The NBA Summer League 2024: A Comprehensive Guide

The NBA summer league is set to kick off this month with all 30 teams coming together for the annual showcase in Las Vegas. This event serves as a platform for teams to test out their newly drafted prospects, second-year players, G League players, two-way players, and veterans looking to secure a spot on the roster.

Some of the league’s top incoming rookies will be on display during the summer league, including highly-touted prospects like Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr, and Reed Sheppard. These young players will have a chance to showcase their skills and make a strong impression on their respective teams.

During the summer league, each team will play four games in Las Vegas from July 12 to 19. The top four teams will then advance to the playoffs, with two semifinal games scheduled for July 21 and the championship game set for July 22. The other 26 teams will play a fifth game on either July 20 or July 21.

All summer league games will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN+, and NBA TV. Fans can also check out box scores and stats from all games online. Additionally, each team’s official summer league rosters will be available for viewing online.

Kicking off the summer league action are the games in the California Classic Summer League, with matchups taking place in San Francisco and Sacramento from July 6 to 10. Teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors will be in action during this period.

Following the California Classic, the Salt Lake City Summer League will take place from July 8 to 10. Teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Utah Jazz will be competing in this mini-tournament.

The main event will be held in Las Vegas at the Cox Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center from July 12 to 22. Teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, LA Clippers, and more will participate in a series of games to prepare for the upcoming NBA season.

The NBA summer league serves as a valuable opportunity for teams to evaluate their young talent, experiment with different lineups, and get a sneak peek at the future of the league.
