The Carolina Panthers Experience Aircraft Incident After Loss

The Carolina Panthers encountered a harrowing experience after their preseason game against the New England Patriots. The team’s Delta flight veered off the taxiway at Charlotte Douglas Airport in the early hours of Friday morning. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the players and staff on board.

Response from Airport and Team Officials

Both airport and team spokespersons confirmed the incident, stating that emergency crews promptly responded to the situation. The Delta aircraft had skidded into the mud while taxiing to Wilson Air Center. Despite the mishap, the airport’s lighting and taxiway were in full working order.

Delta swiftly towed the aircraft out of the movement area, allowing for repairs to be made to the affected area. The taxiway was reopened for use after undergoing maintenance. Following the incident, it took approximately an hour for the team to be transported back to the air center via bus.

In response to the incident, Delta Airlines issued a statement to address the situation. The statement clarified that the right main gear of Delta 8860 had exited the taxiway during a routine arrival at the airport. Despite the unexpected turn of events, all 188 customers on board were safely deplaned and escorted to the terminal without any reported injuries.

While the Carolina Panthers may have faced an unexpected ordeal following their game, the swift response from airport and airline personnel ensured the safety and well-being of all individuals involved. It serves as a reminder of the importance of preparedness and effective crisis management in unforeseen circumstances.
