Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has made it clear that he is not interested in taking on coaching roles with the United States or England national teams. Despite speculation linking him to these positions, Klopp has firmly ruled out the possibility of returning to coaching in the near future.
Klopp, who left Liverpool at the end of last season after almost nine years at the club, stated that he sees his departure from coaching as a permanent decision. Speaking at the International Coaches’ Congress in Wurzburg, Germany, Klopp declared, “As of today, that’s it for me as a coach.” He emphasized that his decision was not made lightly and that he has already coached top clubs in the world.
Sources close to Klopp revealed that he intends to take at least a 12-month break from the game after leaving Liverpool. This break may extend beyond merely a year, as Klopp hinted that he might choose not to return to football in a coaching capacity. Despite the rumors linking him to prestigious coaching positions, Klopp made it clear that he currently has no offers on the table.
While Klopp has ruled out coaching roles at the moment, he expressed his desire to remain involved in football and help others with his experience and contacts. He mentioned that he is open to exploring different opportunities within the sport and is looking forward to seeing what the future holds for him. Klopp stated, “I still want to work in football. Let’s see what else there is for me.”
In addition to his continued involvement in football, Klopp highlighted his desire to pursue other interests outside of coaching. He mentioned that he is not ready to retire completely and has plans to engage in other activities such as padel tennis and spending time with his grandchildren. While he did not completely rule out a return to coaching in the future, Klopp stated that it is unlikely at the moment.
