J.J. Watt recently hosted his annual charity softball game in Houston where he spoke to reporters about the possibility of an NFL return if the Houston Texans were in need. Watt emphasized that this is the final year he’ll entertain the idea of coming out of retirement to play in the league.
Retirement and Gratitude
After retiring in 2022, Watt expressed his gratitude for his 12 great years in the NFL. He mentioned being fortunate and lucky to have a beautiful wife and son, as well as walking away from the game healthy and playing at a high level. Watt made it clear that he will no longer keep training as he has been doing, signaling that this is the last year he’ll entertain the idea of returning if called upon.
Relationship with DeMeco Ryans
Watt’s relationship with DeMeco Ryans, the coach of the Houston Texans, goes back to their time playing together in 2011.
