Magomed Umalatov Dominates Andrey Koreshkov in PFL 3 Main Event

Magomed Umalatov, with a record of 15-0, showcased his dominance once again in the PFL SmartCage. By defeating former Bellator MMA welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov (27-4), Umalatov solidified his spot as a force to be reckoned with in the welterweight division. Despite not having the opportunity to compete in the PFL playoffs yet, Umalatov has proven himself to be a formidable opponent with a flawless record under the PFL banner.

In the main event of PFL 3, Umalatov secured a victory over Koreshkov with all three judges scoring the bout 29-28 in his favor. This win not only extended Umalatov’s undefeated streak but also marked a significant milestone in his career. Koreshkov, who had previously won five consecutive fights, was unable to withstand Umalatov’s prowess in the cage. The unanimous decision victory earned Umalatov three valuable points in the PFL 2024 welterweight standings.

Aside from Umalatov’s impressive win, other fighters also made a mark in PFL 3. Don Madge from South Africa claimed the top spot in the welterweight standings with a six-point finish against Brennan Ward. Additionally, Murad Ramazanov secured six points with a first-round submission, further intensifying the competition in the division. In the featherweight category, 2022 PFL champion Brendan Loughnane began his campaign with a first-round TKO of Pedro Carvalho. Gabriel Braga also made a statement by matching Loughnane’s performance with a six-point finish, knocking out Justin Gonzalez in the closing seconds of the opening round with a devastating left hook.

As the 2024 regular season progresses, fans can anticipate more thrilling matchups in the welterweight and featherweight divisions. The action will continue on June 28 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as fighters strive to climb the rankings and secure their spot in the prestigious PFL playoffs.
