Brivio Joins Trackhouse: A New Chapter in his Motorsport Career

Amidst rumors of a potential move to Honda, it has been confirmed that Davide Brivio, the former racing director of the Alpine Formula 1 team, has committed to the newly established Trackhouse squad. This American outfit, led by Justin Marks, has taken over the entry previously held by RNF and CryptoDATA. Brivio will be taking on the role of director, replacing PJ Rashidi. This move comes as a surprise to many, as Brivio had spent the last three years at Alpine, where he held various positions, including racing director and head of the young driver program.

Davide Brivio is no stranger to success in motorsport. Prior to his stint at Alpine, he led the Suzuki MotoGP team to its first premier class title in 20 years, with Joan Mir securing the championship in 2020. Brivio’s decision to leave Suzuki and make the switch to Formula 1 was met with shock in the industry, as he had played a pivotal role in the team’s resurgence. However, the opportunity to join the Trackhouse team, starting in 2024, was too enticing to pass up.

One of the key elements of Brivio’s move to Trackhouse is the collaboration with Aprilia. The Italian manufacturer will rely on the expertise and experience of Brivio to aid in the development and evolution of their RS-GP. The Trackhouse team has already requested two 2024-spec bikes for Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez, who will continue to ride for the satellite outfit during the transition from RNF to Trackhouse.

The hiring of Davide Brivio by Trackhouse has been influenced significantly by Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola. Rivola recognizes Brivio’s remarkable track record in MotoGP, where he achieved great success with both Yamaha and Suzuki. Brivio played a crucial role in Yamaha’s signing of Valentino Rossi in 2004, after the Italian rider had secured three consecutive titles with Honda. Additionally, he was responsible for recruiting Jorge Lorenzo, who went on to win back-to-back 250cc titles in 2006-2007. Brivio’s experience and expertise make him a valuable asset to any team.

The move to Trackhouse marks a significant turning point in Davide Brivio’s career. It provides him with a fresh challenge and the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the world of Formula 1. As the director of the American outfit, Brivio will have the chance to shape the team’s strategy, build a strong foundation, and propel them towards success on the F1 grid. With his proven leadership and championship-winning experience, Brivio is poised to make a seamless transition into his new role. Motorsport enthusiasts eagerly await the start of the 2024 season to see Brivio’s influence on the Trackhouse team and the progress he will make in collaboration with Aprilia.
