Reflecting on a Season of Success in Motorsport

The 2023 motorsport season has been incredibly busy and fruitful for me. I began by participating in endurance racing and the Asian Le Mans Series, all the while preparing for my Porsche campaign in the Carrera Cup Middle East. The preparations paid off as we clinched a win in every race we entered, setting the stage for a strong season ahead.

Moving on to the European season, the expectations were high, and I had the necessary testing mileage and physical preparation to tackle the Porsche Supercup with confidence. The season kicked off at Spa with the Carrera Cup Deutschland, where I competed for the first time in the series. Joining Allied Racing, a new team for me, was a significant undertaking. However, we secured pole position in wet conditions and followed it up with a race win, setting a strong tone for the season. Our consistent podium finishes in Germany solidified our position as contenders, despite a few races where contact from other cars hindered our chances.

The Disappointment and Triumph of Monaco

Sadly, the Imola weekend, where I was scheduled to start the Porsche Supercup with Lechner Racing, was canceled due to floods. Nonetheless, we quickly resumed racing in Monaco, one of the highlights of the season. Winning in Monaco, especially in such a fiercely competitive one-make series, was an achievement I am immensely proud of. The victory not only caught the attention of racing enthusiasts but also opened doors to exciting opportunities.

While the Porsche Supercup title was always the ultimate goal, it was equally important to make a strong impression in each race. Claiming the most wins of the season and demonstrating consistent performance on prestigious tracks garnered recognition from key figures in motorsport. Unfortunately, two unavoidable mishaps and two “Did Not Finish” results meant that we were no longer in the championship battle by the season finale. The Porsche Supercup is a unique and demanding series, and extracting maximum performance from the car requires skill and finesse.

In such a fiercely competitive field, having the right team and support becomes crucial. Those who achieve success in the Supercup understand the importance of maximizing the car’s potential and securing the right resources. I am grateful for the opportunity to support EMA Motorsport in the Carrera Cup Australia, particularly at Bathurst, a dream circuit of mine. Claiming three wins and setting a lap record was an incredible experience that further fueled my motivation.

As the 2024 season approaches, my focus is on continuing my successful journey with Porsche. While nothing is finalized at the moment, the attention garnered during the 2023 season has opened many doors, and I am excited to explore what the future holds. Becoming a Porsche factory driver is my ultimate aspiration, and I am dedicated to achieving this goal. My progression through the BRDC SuperStars program has been promising, with each season showcasing improved performances. The program provides valuable insights and support from successful individuals who have an extensive background with factory teams.

What makes the BRDC SuperStars program truly valuable is the access to advice and support from experienced individuals, not just in driving matters but also in navigating off-track challenges. This unexpected support has helped me grow as a motorsport professional and make the most of opportunities that come my way.

The 2023 season has been one of remarkable achievements and exciting prospects. The wins at prestigious venues like Monaco and Bathurst have set a solid foundation for the future. As I continue to hone my skills and chase my dream of racing with Porsche, I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way and eager to see what lies ahead in my motorsport career.
